Summary

The feed mill maintenance must be able to perform preventative maintenance on feed mill related equipment, as well as repair and install equipment as necessary. Maintenance must be able to detect potential mechanical and electrical problems, maintain the required written records including work performed, corrective actions, and installed replacement parts. Maintenance must work in compliance with all company policies, local, state and federal polices, laws, and regulations.

Requirements

  • Hours: 2pm-10pm
  • A minimum requirement of a high school degree or equivalent
  • Minimum of 2 years in feed mill maintenance or related maintenance field
  • Understand food hazards
  • Knowledge of feed manufacturing equipment operation and maintenance
  • Ability to lift 60 pounds routinely without assistance, climb ladders, and operate a pallet jack with 2000 pounds of material

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Repair any mechanical malfunction in the feed mill
  • Detect any potential electrical or mechanical problems
  • Check that equipment is functioning properly
  • Prepare written and actions taken to correct equipment problems
  • Respond to mechanical or electrical breakdowns and handle emergency situations
  • Lubricate equipment
  • Perform preventive maintenance according to a posted schedule
  • Complete appropriate paperwork and reports
  • Operate a forklift
