The Quality Assurance Supervisor assures the food safety and specifications of products and processes by enforcing quality policies, procedures, and standards. Leads a team of Quality Assurance Technicians to meet all job requirements. Ensures compliance to all regulatory standards including HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point), USDA (United States Department of Agriculture), SSOP’s (Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures), etc.
The qualified applicant will have a Bachelor’s degree and one year QA experience, OR a high school diploma and three years’ QA experience, preferably in food or poultry; and must be HACCP Certified. Also, excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential, and must have exceptional organizational skills, with proven supervisory experience.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
The primary responsibility is to ensure that the finished product standards – including grading, packaging, icing, labeling and stacking – are met and that customer specifications are adhered to. This includes but is not limited to: staffing, training and assigning QA Techs to monitor critical control points; monitoring flow of product and equipment performance through the quality process; maintaining complete and accurate records and preparing all reports as required; and promoting a “Quality Attitude” throughout the processing environment.
